The Summer Concert Series at Pier 17 is The Hottest Ticket of the Season

Summer is so close we can almost taste it. Refreshing drinks on rooftops, the warm sun, cool breeze… and the start of summer concert season. In the Seaport District, that means the Summer Concert Series on The Rooftop at Pier 17, which kicks off this year on May 19 with the first of two shows by Passion Pit, as part of their Manners 10th Anniversary Tour, and runs through summer’s busy months until October.

If you’ve never been to a concert on The Rooftop, now is the time to snag your tickets and start making plans. The full schedule and tickets are available via Ticketmaster. But once you’ve got those dates in your calendar, what can you expect? The short answer: a live experience unlike any other in the city.

In partnership with exclusive booking partner Live Nation, the Summer Concert Series debuted in 2018 and brought the joy of outdoor concerts, rooftop cocktails and incredible city skyline views together in one unique location. The Rooftop at Pier 17 is the first of its kind — an open-air rooftop venue spanning 1.5 acres, with room for up to 3,400 people in a concert setting. Last summer’s season introduced New Yorkers to the unique experience of seeing artists like Kings of Leon, Sting, Diana Ross and comedian Amy Schumer perform against the backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge. Eighteen of the summer’s 23 shows were sold out, and The Rooftop was named the “Best New Concert Venue” for 2018 at the 30thAnnual Pollstar Awards. The 360-degree views of the NYC skyline, a state-of-the-art sound system, and the intimate size of the venue all make it the perfect bucket list destination to see your favorite band live.

This year, the stage will welcome artists including Billie Eilish, Ringo Starr, The Lonely Island, O.A.R., Ben Folds and the Violent Femmes. In addition to the dynamic shows, audiences will enjoy premium drink stations and gourmet food trucks on The Rooftop. New this summer is the Heineken Green Zone, an exclusive standing fan section with a prime location near the front of the stage and access to dedicated food and beverage stations. The Seaport District surrounding Pier 17 is also home to numerous bars and restaurants ideal for pre-gaming or grabbing a bite or drink after a show.

Pier 17 is an ADA-compliant venue and accessible seating, restrooms and concessions are available. To get to Pier 17, you can take the subway, PATH, ferry or car. The entrance is located at the intersection of Fulton and South Streets, at 89 South Street. For more information on the venue, visit here.
