One of Italy’s most celebrated fashion houses, Roberto Cavalli brings its exotic prints, vibrant colors, sensual silhouettes, and dynamic energy to the Seaport District with the launch of its experiential laboratory, opened September 2018.
Roberto Cavalli Now Open
Located at 205 Front Street
Open Monday through Saturday from 11am - 7pm and Sundays from 11am – 6pm
Housed in a traditional brick townhouse on the historic cobblestones, the two-story space, which opened during New York Fashion Week, sets the stage for a new vision of the Roberto Cavalli brand, as conceived by its recently appointed creative director Paul Surridge. “It’s not just a fashion brand, it’s a universe,” Surridge told Vogue. “It’s a global platform. When I think about the origin of Cavalli, I think about a man with a passion for material, technique, and craftsmanship. He was a real innovator. And that is something I feel very strongly too.”
Drawing upon the vibrancy of New York City, the lab will host a series of events and activities, showcasing a specially edited selection of pieces as well as dedicated capsule collections. Video walls greet you as you step into the 200-sqm space, instantly immersing you in Cavalli’s rich, kaleidoscopic world.
There’s much to look forward to in this innovative concept. In November, the lab will host an exclusive event to debut the Pre-Fall 2019 collection, coinciding with a photo shoot featuring the Seaport District as its backdrop. Later this year, Roberto Cavalli’s new V1PER sneaker, which was unveiled on the catwalk during the men’s Spring/Summer 2019 show in Florence last June, will launch at the Seaport store, where customers will be able to buy an exclusive, customized version. In the following months, the lab will announce an exciting calendar of events for 2019, inspired by the link between the Italian luxury label and New York’s upcoming fashion and art scene. Keep your eyes on the Seaport space for more to come.
