Sea of Light is an immersive sensory art and light installation activated by movement and sound. Join us for a unique winter experience, open every day through March 2018.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. It is open 24 hours a day but can be seen best after dark.
Sea of Light is created in partnership with Symmetry Labs, a San Francisco-based interactive light art collective. Symmetry Labs are known for their unique installations at Burning Man, the Superbowl Village, and Panorama Music Festival, among others. Their installation at the Seaport is their largest semi-permanent installation to date.
The Seaport Holiday Experience will continue the neighborhood’s Christmas Tree tradition with a 30-foot tree located on the new Pier 17. The tree stands next to the South Street Seaport Museum's historic ships- cargo ship Wavertree and lightship Ambrose- which will both be decorated with a holiday tree, a long-standing maritime tradition.
