Honor Black History Month with Black Gotham Experience
From his studio in the Seaport District, Kamau Ware of Black Gotham Experience shares untold stories of black history in New York City and beyond. Ware’s passion for emotive storytelling fuels Black Gotham’s walking tours, salons and other projects, including regular “Nerdy Thursday” events, which bring people together for panels and talks at Black Gotham’s studio on Front Street—a space made possible by an artist residency with Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and support from The Howard Hughes Corporation.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Black Gotham Experience, and this month the studio honors Black History Month with a full slate of events and activations. Here’s a taste of what’s on throughout February.
