The transformed Seaport District will encompass seven buildings on several city blocks totaling more than 400,000 square feet filled with cutting-edge dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural offerings that will make the district one of the city’s ultimate destinations.
These include restaurants from culinary powerhouses Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Momofuku Group led by David Chang as the first to be announced in what will become an unparalleled range of dining options in the Seaport District, including a 40,000 square foot food market in the restored Tin Building featuring Jean-Georges that will rival the most popular food concepts; leading cinema operator iPic Theaters first Manhattan location; and the new Pier 17 building that will be highlighted by a 1.5-acre rooftop that will include a restaurant, outdoor bars and a venue for concerts and special events that will become one of the world’s most recognized entertainment destinations.
The rooftop will be programmed year-round; home to a seasonal summer concert series as well as a winter village and a cultural and entertainment gathering place for New Yorkers and visitors. Other tenants will include the recently announced Milan-based retail pioneer, 10 Corso Como, McNally Jackson Books, a popular New York independent bookseller, Amsterdam-based retailer Scotch and Soda, and innovative fast casual vegan restaurant by CHLOE.
Construction of the new Pier 17 building is underway, featuring a striking glass façade that provides spectacular views of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the skylines of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
